Illinois has an annual sexual harassment prevention training requirement for every worker, but the laws have changed in the last year, so there are some new twists to be aware of.

If you work within the City of Chicago

You may have heard that those training requirements have recently been increased.   The City of Chicago now requires three hours of training for supervisory and managerial personnel every year:  two hours of sexual harassment prevention training and one hour of bystander intervention training; and two hours of training for non-supervisory personnel: one hour of sexual harassment prevention training and one hour of bystander intervention training.

You will need to know if you are a supervisor or not a supervisor in your professional role. The definition of a supervisor can be found here.

Chicago Professionals with an IDFPR license renewing in 2023

Will need to use a Chicago CE course bundle for their training this year.

Remember that if you have multiple licenses renewing in the same calendar year, you don’t have to take the course again. You are properly entitled to print out multiple copies of our CE sexual harassment prevention course completion certificate, fill in the different license details, and use the same course completion for renewing all licenses that come up in the same calendar year.

Chicago Professionals whose licenses do NOT renew in 2023

Depending on the profession and the specifics of the license, Illinois licenses are good for one, two or three years.  Trainees who don’t renew their licenses in a calendar year may use a NON-CE Chicago course bundle for their training in that year.  This saves a few dollars, and we can discount the course for returning customers as well.
